Chris has been with Far West Farms since 2010. His riding and teaching skills are an asset to our team and combined with his outgoing personality you or your child are sure to have fun during your lessons with him.
Chris’ lesson program has a solid dressage foundation that transitions naturally into jumping straight and in balance. He is totally committed to the best interests of our clients, and makes student safety a top priority. He is an excellent teacher who genuinely enjoys helping to start new riders on their own riding path.
From a very young age Chris knew he would pursue a career in horses. After watching a rider (who would soon become his own trainer) jump five foot fences, Chris knew he would eventually jump those same fences with time, but he also knew this is what he was meant to do.
Chris started riding at age six and rode throughout his childhood, showing in his early teen years in both hunters and jumpers. Enjoying jumpers the most, he also found a newfound love and respect for dressage as well.
Chris is a graduate of Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre where he received his Riding Masters IV and Certified Instructor certifications. He has received his United States Hunter-Jumper Certified Trainer certification and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Equestrian emphasis from West Virginia University Parkersburg.
He competed on the USEF/MHJA circuit for 10 years and also on the California Dressage Society circuit. He has trained with and worked for numerous FEI and Olympic dressage and jumper trainers.
