Shows
Only the best at Far West
From your toddler’s first lead-line class to amateur medals and even going pro, Far West can take you through it all. You can find our red-and-navy banners at a show almost every weekend around SoCal, and our rider’s names in all the leader boards. Whether you ride the A circuit with Jenny Karazissis, or go for amateur medals with Lisa Winn and Jessica Rabbiner, our team of trainers will take you and your horse to the top.
IEL
B.Y.O.H. - Bring your own horse
Show your school spirit at an IEL horse show! It’s like a regular show, but for Southern California Middle and High school students where you earn points towards your school, instead of you as an individual . With 4 shows throughout the year, you’ll earn PE credit while meeting other local students who all share a passion for horses and competition. When it’s time to apply for college, IEL offers many scholarship opportunities as well.
IEA
You provide the kid - they’ll provide the horse.
For students between 4th -12th grade, IEA is an opportunity to step into the show ring without having to own your own horse. Students instead attend shows at a ‘host barn’ and pick a horse’s name out of a hat to ride. Riders are judged on their equitation and ability to apply their knowledge and skill on an unfamiliar ride. Those interested in joining IEA should be comfortable riding a variety of horses on a regular basis.
Annual Holiday Home Show
Fun & festivities for the whole family
For some of our kids, their first horse show experience happens right at home. Once a year on a crisp Southern California morning, riders don their best riding gear and climb up on their favorite ponies in front of a “panel of judges.” From lead-line and walk/trot classes to cross-rail courses and ‘sit-a-buck’ challenges, there’s a class for every level of rider at Far West - and a ribbon at the end too, if you can remember your diagonals!
