Horsemanship Classes

When: Two Saturdays per month September-May

Age: 8 & Up

The program runs from 12-2:30 and includes:

  • Horsemanship lessons and guest speakers, on horse-related topics such as equine first aid and illness, equine anatomy, tack and hunter-jumper horse showing.

  • Hands-On Horsemanship skills such as assembling a bridle, bandaging, and horse handling skills.

  • Adopt-a-Horse – Each camper will choose a horse and learn what it takes to care for her/his own horse through grooming, bathing, stall care and more.

Tack Classes

When: select Saturdays at 11:00 AM until noon

Age: 5 & Up

This one hour course goes over the basics of horse handling and tack, including how to halter and lead a horse, put on a saddle and bridle, adjust your stirrups, check your girth, put on leg wraps or boots, and more.
